Nowadays the term of art for this is called gof_ai (good old fashioned ai). My one is the older close sibling of the semantic web. My distribution paradigm is knowledge base archives here on itch.io. The idea is that 

1. you buy (pay as you will, libre open access writing, like basically all of my and Sandewall's stuff) an archive on here. 
2. (Technically, the archive constitutes a true belief for your software individual about my beliefs at a single timepoint.)
3. One of your individuals' agents slurps that knowledgebase into its knowledgebases (working on this now).
4. After which your agent can freely use and share that knowledgebase (as knowledge). Loosely speaking an agent is similar to a software, and knowledge / knowledgebases constitute features.
